Canada Visa Guide for Pakistani Citizens

Study Permit (Student Visa)

To study in Canada, you need a Study Permit. This is not just a visa; it allows you to reside in Canada for your education.

Required Documents

  • Letter of Acceptance (LOA): Must be from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
  • Proof of Funds: You must show you can cover tuition plus at least CAD $10,000 (or current requirement) for living expenses. GIC is recommended for SDS stream.
  • Statement of Purpose: A letter explaining why you want to study in Canada and your future plans.
  • Police Clearance Certificate: Often required to prove no criminal record.

Visitor Visa (TRV)

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) allows you to visit Canada for tourism, business, or family visits.

Key Requirements

  • Proof of Ties to Pakistan: Employment letters, property documents, and family ties are essential to prove you will leave Canada.
  • Travel History: Previous travel to other countries strengthens your application.
  • Invitation Letter: If visiting family, a letter from them with their status in Canada is helpful.

Application Process via IRCC

  1. Apply Online: Use the IRCC Portal. It is faster and easier than paper applications.
  2. Upload Documents: Scan and upload all your documents. Ensure they are clear and legible.
  3. Biometrics: After paying the fee, you will receive a letter to give your fingerprints and photo at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) like VFS Global.
  4. Passport Request: If approved, you will be asked to submit your passport for stamping.
